Bookixo Inc. ("Bookixo", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Bookixo mobile application and website (the "Platform"), which connects users with local service professionals. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Platform.

By using Bookixo, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Platform.

Our commitment in plain English We collect only what we need to make Bookixo work well for you. We never sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties. You are always in control.

Your data is used solely to deliver and improve the Bookixo experience:

  • To send service reminders and booking updates via push notification or email

  • To detect, prevent, and address fraud or safety concerns
  • To improve our app and develop new features through anonymized analytics
  • To comply with legal obligations

We will never use your data for purposes incompatible with the ones listed above without seeking your explicit consent first.

Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We share relevant booking details (name, address, service type) with the professional assigned to your booking.
  • Payment Processors: Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We share only what is required to complete the transaction.
  • Analytics Providers: We use anonymized, aggregated data with analytics tools to understand usage patterns. No personal identifiers are shared.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred with advance notice provided to users.
We never sell your data. Your information is not shared with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial purposes outside of what's described above.

Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience. These include:

Our mobile app does not use traditional cookies but may use similar device-level identifiers (e.g. IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) for crash reporting. These can be reset or disabled in your device settings.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. Specifically:

  • Active account data is retained for the lifetime of your account.
  • Booking history is retained for 3 years for customer support, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
  • Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations.
  • Support messages are retained for 2 years.
  • Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

Children's Privacy

Bookixo is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@bookixo.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

Section 09

Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256 encryption.
  • Payment data is processed exclusively by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified provider. Bookixo never stores full card numbers.
  • Access to personal data within our organisation is role-based and logged.
  • We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing.
  • We have an incident response plan and will notify affected users within 72 hours of a confirmed data breach.

While we strive to use the best available protections, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your account credentials private.

Section 10

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or new features. When we do, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
  • Send an in-app notification and/or email for material changes.
  • Give you at least 14 days' notice before any significant changes take effect.

Your continued use of Bookixo after policy changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
